Come sit with us

Your partnership is part of the magic. Here are the simplest, kindest ways to help — plus the school portals we use, and volunteer ideas if you have time to spare.

School Portals

Websites we use at Odyssey. Each one opens in a new tab. Passwords and student accounts never live on this site. Family book-club codes you need for ordering are listed with Scholastic.

How families can help at home

Daily reading

Twenty minutes, five times a week. Talk about characters, clues, and what surprised you.

Math facts

Five cozy minutes. Games, flash cards, or facts in the car all count.

Spelling & cursive

Ten minutes of spelling and a little cursive practice make a visible difference.

Ask about the day

“What made you curious today?” beats “How was school?” every time.

Celebrate effort

Notice perseverance and kindness. Progress is the treasure.

Stay in touch

Parent Square is the best way to write Miss Hall. Owl Post holds the weekly map.

Subject help, at a glance

  • Reading & Writing — Battle of the Books list, book-report months, and cursive tips.
  • Math — Why automaticity matters, plus grocery-store and park math.
  • Science — SEEd strands, kitchen experiments, and Utah places to explore.
  • Utah History — Rendezvous, Counties Fair float ideas, and heritage conversations.

Volunteering

Help in the room, walk students to specialties, join a party or field trip, or take a bag of cutting and coloring home. When extra hands are needed, a note will go out in Owl Post. No gift of time is too small.

A note from my heart

I am so looking forward to walking through this year with your family. I believe every child can thrive when they feel known, supported, and willing to try. If something is on your mind, please write on Parent Square. You never have to wait until a worry gets big.

Let’s make this a magical 4th grade year.
